In addition to private tutoring, MJ Test Prep also offers group classes for the SAT, ACT, and the SAT Subject classes in various subjects. Ambitious students who are motivated by or enjoy working with peers will especially thrive in these classes. Students will work in small groups, with a ratio of three to four students per one tutor.
If you’re not sure which test your child should prep for, we offer diagnostic practice tests. We encourage you to come to our office and take two full-length practice tests: SAT and ACT. After both tests are completed, we will compare the scores and offer feedback. Please contact us to schedule a practice test. Each test costs $20. After the initial diagnostic tests, we only offer tests in the office for students who are in session with a tutor.
MJ Test Prep is now accepting students for our SAT Subject Test Classes, SAT Summer Camps, and our ACT summer Camps. Please refer to the individual pages for more information on these classes.
MJ Test Prep will be running our group classes for the SAT and ACT again in the fall. Please refer back to to this page for more information.
ACT Winter Class
The class will be held on nine Sunday afternoons concluding one week before the April ACT. Students are encouraged to take the April test, and they can register on ACT’s website. Registration for this class is closed, but we will be running another group class in the fall of 2017.
Classes start Sunday, January 29, and the class time is 2 PM to 5 PM. The class includes a mandatory simulated ACT held three weeks before the April ACT test date and an optional review class scheduled the week before the April test date.
The ACT is universally accepted by colleges, and the SAT and ACT are equally weighted assessment tools. The ACT is more straightforward than the SAT in that it puts greater emphasis on the typical skills developed through high school curriculum.
For homework each week, students are responsible for completing one full ACT test and completing additional worksheets. Students will work in small groups of three to four students per one tutor.

After the last class, we offer an optional open classroom the week before the test (the date is determined with the tutors and the students as the date draws closer), which students can address their questions from the missed class then.
